Being physically active is very safe for most people. Some people, however, should check with their doctors before they increase their current level of activity. The PAR-Q has been designed to identify the small number of adults for whom physical activity may be inappropriate or those who should have medical advice concerning the type of activity most suitable for them. You will be asked to complete an online PARQ when you register and a paper PARQ at the studio when you start your classes.
How do I become a member?
All you need to do is register via the website and click on JOIN TODAY - follow the links and create your account. Once your account is set up you can then buy your membership and then book into classes.
Do I need to book?
Yes all classes and camps need to be booked online via the website/booking system – our classes are popular and you will need to book to make sure you have your place. You can see all classes on the TIMETABLE
How can I try a class before I sign up for Membership?
All you will need to do is register online and set up your account then you can select New Members Membership £10 for a week of as many classes as you like. Once you book your first class your trial week begins.
Do classes run all year?
Yes! All of our classes are on every week of the year, although we do shut briefly over the Christmas and New Year period. We will also send out an email via the newsletter with any class closures and they will not be available to book online. The only time our class timetable may change is during the school holidays or if Instructors are away. We will always email you amended timetables to inform you.
Please note that extremely bad weather can possibly lead to the studio being closed, plus illness and injury can sometimes happen to instructors. We will do our very best to secure a high-quality cover instructor for any classes affected, but occasionally this can be difficult to do especially at the last minute. If a class has to be cancelled for any reason, we shall notify you immediately, rebook your class or credit your account and extend our apologies.
Where are you based?
The instructor will introduce themselves please take this opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
At your first class you will be asked to fill out a health questionnaire and liability waiver. This is for us to be aware of any health issues or injuries that may affect you during class and for your safety. We also advise that if your health changes, you must inform us and re-fill a form. If your child is attending classes with us, you must fill out a form on their behalf, and also leave us emergency contact details. The questionnaires and confidential and locked in a secure cabinet and the information is only for the instructors knowledge.
Please make sure to arrive at least 10-15 minutes early before your first class for us to run through everything with you.
What do I need to wear?
Loose, non-restrictive clothing is a must. Wear something that you would normally in the gym e.g. t-shirt/vest and leggings or jogging bottoms. Jeans and skirts are unsuitable. It is also advised that ladies wear a good sports bra for comfort as the moves in class can be very vigorous.
If you are wearing unsuitable footwear, you will be politely asked to not participate in the class for your own safety.
What do I need to bring?
WATER! Please bring plenty in a large bottle as it is important to stay hydrated. We have access to water if you wish to refill your bottle. Please remember to take your bottles home as they will be put in the rubbish if left in the studio for over a week. Please bring a hand towel as you will get sweaty. We do sell SWF Towels if your interested to purchase for £5.
Can I bring kids to the studio?
We know childcare can sometimes be difficult, and we don’t want it to be a barrier to your fitness. Therefore babies in buggies and children who can keep occupied with a book or game to the back/side of the studio are more than welcome. Your child remains the parent’s responsibility throughtout the class and they must not disrupt the class for other members.
I’m very overweight and/or very unfit. Are the classes suitable for me?
Absolutely! We have members of all ages, shapes, sizes, and fitness levels so nobody should ever stand out in our classes. Our classes are designed to get you moving, losing weight, and getting fit whilst having fun. You do not need to be super-fit or skinny to start, but if you are feeling nervous then please have a chat with us about your concerns before you start.
We encourage you to put in as much effort as possible into the class, attend regularly, and alongside a healthy diet you will start to see some fantastic results. If you do need to start off a bit slower than everyone else, that is fine. You can start at your own pace and take regular short breaks for water with no pressure at all.
How can I attend Bootcamps?
Once your registered you can either buy a pay as you go credit £6 and book into the Bootcamp or you would need to select Camps & Classes Membership. All Bootcamps take place outside the studio or at Crab trees. Appropriate clothes must be warm and please take along a drink. We will adapt all camps to your level.
What happens if classes are cancelled?
If you are booked into the classes and classes have to be unfortunately cancelled due to staff sickness or injury then you will all receive a cancellation email. You must provide us with an email that you use and check regularly. If you are not booked into class we can not let you know and you may turn up for class and find you have had a wasted journey.
